The repeated mistake is not starting Kanu. FFS why does Ladapo always start. He offers nothing and doesn’t even merit a place on the bench. An academy player would at least be enthusiastic!
If Chuks isn’t back soon we really are off to League 2!5 -
Come on now it wasn’t all bad we was the better team for the 1st 10 minutes3
-
In various threads and posts the complex, multifaceted and historical analysis of how we have ended up in this position has been well considered and high quality (mostly 😂). To expect any manager, the third this year, to turn it around in five days is the opposite of that wisdom and is simply not realistic, neither was it particularly achievable.
We are starting from a very low place indeed and it’s going to take a little more time than a week to gain traction. There are several games which I think can be won if progress is made, we do have a better team on paper than has been apparent and we do have some key players returning from injury
It’s clearly going to be a rollercoaster spring however let’s give the new manager time to work and our support and goodwill. We might stay up we might not but we cannot keep going through managers three a season and we cannot keep expecting managers to exert messianic powers and undo a decades worth of harm in a few days.

A few clear differences consistently repeated in the shift pattern, balance and position of engagement out of possession today. Clearly been focused on.A rare few moments flowed but the final ball and decision making was all wrong. Edun…oh Edun!! Got an absolute rocket off of NJ, twice following that double delivery mess up.Danny Kanu is really asking questions, he comes on and does everything Freddie isn’t.
Was good to have a proper keeper in goal again.Support was great! Numbers and noise but we’re going to need that throughout this run in, minus the wally at the front calling Pan a w*nker and telling him to f*ck off.6 -
I was unfortunate to have had seats with the Stone Island brigade all looking like Palace ultras in their black hardman hoodies. My 15 year old daughter was really looking forward to this, but she has come home not wanting to go away again. My daughter stood next to these arseholes snorting coke off credit cards. She was hit over the back of the head by one of these stupid coked up w**kers who made a crap day crappier. I was also hit on the head by a coin thrown by one of them. They are sad Millwall wannabes. I don't expect it to be like the opera but I was genuinely worried about her safety if we had scored as they were so out of it. Luckily there wasn't much chance of that happening!paulmanalishi said:Big shout out to a large contingent of Charlton fans today who were so ridiculously badly behaved. Our record as the only professional South London club in the fourth tier is looking to be in real danger.0

Copied from the match thread
It isn't Nathan Jones' fault
Appleton didn't help himself
Holden saw what was coming as the players signed in August were dog shit
It isn't the money men, who have spent money
Fundamentally
Charlie Methven
Andy Scott
Jim Rodwell
Have absolutely royally fucked this up
Oh and Lenagan ... our "sporting director" or whatever bollocks he is called
Ed Warwick is just a bean counter (despite not being properly qualified to be one)
The four senior management who oversee the day to day running of the club have been embarrassingly poor.
Probably the worst people to have had control of our club ever
And it isn't their money, which is why they probably don't give a shit either
We are devoid of any heartbeat and we have to prey Nathan Jones can get it back
Lloyd Jones has been excellent
Alfie May has worked his nuts off
Daniel Kanu changes things more than Lapado does
It is frankly astonishing that we have got this bad.
Hang your heads in shame Senior Management Team

Corrected for you.rememberbillybonds said:There is desperation when Chuks is seen as the answer. Does anyone believe he will come back and play any regular football until the end of the season.1 -
Well we could play a diamond to get round that issue. The problem is we'd need half decent wing backs for that.Southbank said:Hartleypete said:Four, Four, fucking 2.

Nathan Jones said on his post game that he had learned a lot from these 90 minutes. I’ll bet he did. I’d be surprised if we see Watson or Edun playing as wing backs again. They were both awful.2

Just got to shelve this result and focus everything on Tuesday. Reading’s gone. 3 pts at home and we build.9

Was there today
Wankers
Good night18 -
My fandom is not as long as many on here, only 25+ years but this team has made me do something that I had never done before until this season, leave the match before the final whistle, both today and against Gillingham.

The irony of all this is that a lot of these players will want to jump ship if/when we go down as they will feel they’re too good for league 2 😂😂 you can’t make it up!7

I’m assuming this is what was going on around ht. But… at any away game why would you chose to stand within vape/coin/dart range of the home fans?paulmanalishi said:
Women and kids had to run to safety because some of our morons and morons from Reading started throwing stuff. Haven’t enjoyed the last few away games I’ve been too. Report it to the club. It’s gotta be kicked out.BartramBlitz said:

Think the buck stops with Rodwell and Scott. Only because I can't see CM and the money men paying them what one would think are decent salaries, only to then have to oversee everything themselves. Still hoping that, at the end of the season, one or two of these investors might break away and take full control, with the pumping of Rodwell and Scott being the first independent decision they'll be making. 🤞supaclive said:Copied from the match thread

You know what, I'm actually quite stunned. I didn't expect Jones to have us playing liquid football a week in, I didn't expect Reading to be an easy game, as they have a lot of quality and sit in a bit of a 'false position' imo, but fuck me, how gutless are some of these players.
New manager, 3 thousand of your fans travelling the country for you, big open pitch to play on, and you put in that performance? So many of them are absolutely terrible.
If Jones keeps us up, I've actually reached a point, where I'd happily see all their contracts torn to shreds, keep literally just Alfie May & some youth, send the others packing. Absolutely spineless peformance.

Might have a spare train ticket for Fleetwood if anyone interested6
-
Also, I'll have what some of you are having, heard a fair few people when walking out say 'we still won't go down'. I don't know where the confidence comes from when we have one of the worst squads in the league, especially after losing 2 of our only good players. Proper relegation fodder squad.29

You mean in a sold out away end where you're allocated seats. You sit where your ticket saysCatAddick said:

Problem stems from clubs putting home fans right next to away fans and not stewarding correctly. It's completely stupid and I'm amazedCatAddick said:

That’s not a good reply. What has been posted on here tonight is a lot more than “a bit nobbish”.CatAddick said:

Report it mate. I've got young kids that I wanna start taking to away games and I won't be having that. Like you say the dickheads down the road act like that not our lotBartramBlitz said:

How many of today's starting 11 would you definitely like to keep for next season.
May is the only 1 I'd be really
disappointed with if he left.
That in itself shows you how fucking dreadful our recruitment has been7 -
