I think Lloyd Jones is a good CB, had a poor month or so in January but was arguably our best defender up until that.

Great to hear that he wants to keep Lloyd Jones. He has POTY potential imo.

A back three of REG Mitchell Jones with Gillesphey, Ness + Z.mitchell as back ups seems pretty decent

Hope Mitchell knows he has to fill the boots of somebody who came 3rd in our POTS vote.

I think we'll look to add one more, maybe an experienced leader?

Absolutely devastated. Need to announce something ourselves to soften the blow 😢

We can announce that Alfie May has joined Huddersfield Town on a 3-year deal

The Striker moves on a Free Transfer, based on a clause in his Contract, allowing him to link back up with Michael Duff

Any ‘For Sale’ signs up outside Alfie’s house?
As of 3 minutes ago No "For Sale" signs outside the property, back to Ralph in the studio for the weather :-)

Having said that he's renting anyway :-)
No For sale sign, but slightly concerning that Michael Duff is on your driveway though?
Blimey, he easily passes the CL height test in that image.

"Because no team has ever put in an ambitious bid because it’s worth asking the question have they?"

Nobody bid for him in January. I'm sure loads of clubs would have been interested in him then if available, but it probably wasn't even remotely entertained.

For this to have been publicised, and for Cawley's response not to be "the club have dismissed it entirely" or "May has said he has no interest in leaving" means this is definitely a strong possibility in my view. And if I was Alfie, for it to be even entertained by the manager after the season he's just had, I think I would leave.

Poor old McGrandles, I do feel like he's derided on here far more harshly than he should be. His first season was a total washout because he got injured immediately, was chucked in here and there while unfit and unsurprisingly broke down again before being good for Cambridge. Then he was injured again, scored a last minute equaliser at Fratton Park for a great moment in a pretty bleak season, got injured again and was loaned out where he did well again before another injury. If Jones doesn't fancy him and there are concerns about his fitness record then I don't have an issue with him moving on but he's talked about like he was a Kirk level player. He just never managed to show what he could do but he's clearly capable at this level. Weirdly he didn't actually lose a league match he played in this season, though he only managed 8 altogether. With that fitness record I'll be happy to see him moved on but I think he's a player we never got to properly see in action rather than a really bad player.

I never "got" McGrandles.  Just a bit of a nothing player imo

All the best fella but I can't say i'll miss him

My question re Mitchell would be why was he surplus at Millwall last season ?
    He got an unexpected parole.

As we’ve got Scotland v Germany on tonight, can he play the bagpipes?

Wish McGrandles well, but didn't work for him here so glad we've got a player who was surplus to requirements off the books, hopefully a few more to come to free up wages.

Got nothing against Mcgrandles really , just a symptom of our poor recruitment over the past few seasons. Will probably go and do well back at Lincoln.

Our strange policy we had for a while of not giving returning injured players minutes in under23, had lengthy spells out and was asked to get fit in real time. Ridiculous.

Funnily that has seemingly changed since Will Abbott joined the club

I should think there are a lot of fans, maybe a bit discontented they haven’t signed a shed load of players as yet.

Even if they don’t get Alfie, it sends out a message to the Huddersfield fans that they are trying to make signings, and i guess keeps them happy.

A bit like us in January with JCH which was unlikely to happen, at least it shuts the fans up.

Huddersfield will have other targets, and will try to turn his head, if our board had any sense, we’d either have to get a crazy fee for him, or just extend his contract as we have a 1 year contract extension so I believe, so I hope that happens, and we can all calm down a bit.

NJ needs to come out and give his full support to Alfie if he has got the guts .Which i dont think he has.Its got to be all about NJ

Good news McGrandles has gone, respectfully.

Quite a high wage earner and literally offered nothing 99% of the time. Seems well liked at Lincoln so a good move for all parties.

Hopefully we can stop our recent history of signing very ordinary midfielders for a while now.

I’ll admit I didn’t know diddly about Mitchell but after a bit of research it would appear he might be a very astute signing. Still only 22 so lots of potential to improve. Did very well in a good Lincoln side last year and perhaps most telling is that Millwall fans think it’s a bit odd that they’re happy to cash in and especially to us. To keep Henry happy WIOTOS but I’m encouraged by this one.

Hopefully the rest of our outgoings are this easy to move on.

Think Fraser will be difficult, the 2 keepers and Edun I would think will have interest.
