NJ: "We were really poor. We were nowhere near good enough on any area of the pitch." #cafc
— Louis Mendez (@LouisMend) December 10, 2024NJ: "Thierry was good first-half. Josh Laq, for his full debit was excellent. Matty Godden showed glimpses. But apart from that, poor all over." #cafc
— Louis Mendez (@LouisMend) December 10, 2024NJ: "I can't remember [being carved open as much as that]. With the greatest of respect, I've played against Man City and they didn't have a shot on target. To have 16, 17 shots against you against, with the greatest of respect, Leyton Orient, it's baffling."#cafc
— Louis Mendez (@LouisMend) December 10, 2024NJ: "But we made nine changes. A lot of players who haven't played. Potts, REG. People who haven't played. That showed tonight because we were so far off it."#cafc
— Louis Mendez (@LouisMend) December 10, 2024NJ: "Every time we turned the ball over they looked like they could score. Whether that was desire, structure, athleticism, we were so far off tonight. We are statistically the best side in the league, defensively, but you never would have thought that tonight." #cafc
— Louis Mendez (@LouisMend) December 10, 2024NJ: "I've learned a lot tonight. The squad I've inherited, players I've inherited that, you know, you can't change everything overnight. That's proved today. I've learned a lot tonight."#cafc

I’m really not one to want constant managerial change - but ask yourself this; if Jones was sacked this week would anyone look back in a year and think ‘I really miss that brand of football’?7
-
As a fan of 66 years standing, I’ve heard plenty of bullshit from Charlton managers and chairmen.
However, Nathan Jones trumps any of his predecessors.
Personally, I want to see him gone as soon as possible.
In the short term, give the reins to Jason Pearce.4 -

Must be.1 -
I’ve been coming for 32 years, in case anyone was wondering.16

Golfie taking the positives out of tonight's game and everyone else in despair for a competition I thought no-one cared about.
What's going on? Not enough green shoots for a recovery finally realised maybe?0 -

Replacing the Manager wont magically result in us going in the right direction, playing a better brand of Football.
We're at the point where the SMT need to be looking at doing a deal with Jones, so he can walk away - But equally we cant pretend that in 12-months time, we wont be looking back in a much worse off position than where we are now.1 - Sponsored links:

But what good would protests be? We spent years protesting to get Roland out, in very inventive and differrent ways, yet he's still 'here'. What good would protests do now?

They deserved that, and stops Jones using his stupid ‘good in the cup’ excuse.
I literally just cannot understand how this bloke was seen as someone who had the coaching ability to coach premiership players.1 -
Crap competition, surprised at the uproar to it. Made 9 changes too. Lose Saturday and this reaction is justified3
-
Just reflecting on my years of supporting Charlton.
My first game 1977 smashing Spurs @ the Valley!
Followed by many brilliant years home and away!
Charlton is our club please keep the faith!

"How bad were we?"
"Pratley played against us for 76 minutes and didn't get booked"12 -

We are a crap mid table L1 team who think they are better than they are.We are where we deserve to be. We need to adjust our expectations are accept we are just a mid table ish L1 team…… We are not superior to Crawley or Orient etc. The old days of Prem, Div 1 are gone.0

That could easily have passed as a league starting side apart from Edun Dixon and Josh L.
AMB and REG have featured heavily even if clearly the second choices.
Small, there's a argument he should be starting over Edwards and after tonight he should.
Leaburn is first name on the temsheet for many.
Potts, Docherty, Berry and Godden were all big summer Jones signings.
And we were completely outclassed and made to look second best by Leyton orient who made plenty of changes themselves. At home.
We play most of these players in the league and get similar results...8 -
Briston_Addick said:Valley11 said:Would be interesting to know what Stoke fans think of Jones. Did he do the same thing there and stick rigidly to one dimensional hoofball?
He’s very much looking like a busted flush, which is massively disappointing. They had Pulis Ball for a decade so they considered Jones' direct style of play to be a breath of fresh air.6 -
