    A run-out.

    Criminal.

Beer run out. Criminal, on such a hot day

9 down now, Qayyum picks up his first wicket

All out 333 at the close.

Sussex 242 behind and the bowlers can rest overnight.

    Game on!

For sure. Only one day left so Kent will need all available overs to try and bowl Sussex out again. Let's hope that the heat has opened a few cracks in the wicket that Tredders and Qayyum can exploit.

Listened to most of today's action via BBC Sports online.

Commentator pondering on why our captain has been overlooked for England honours said Sam was at Harrow the same time as Ballance.

Boycott was asked by Yorkshire to go & see whether Balance was right for his county , returned & said indeed he was....

....but there was an even better player on view in the guise of young Sam Northeast.
  • Good signs early doors.

Some keeping low, some spitting up.

    Fingers crossed.
  • Northeast isn't mucking about.

Tredders on already in the 8th over.
  • Huge appeal for LBW, not given.

Rabada with his hands on his head for an age afterwards.

I think if I was Northeast I'd give Denly a go just to mix it up and maybe tempt the batsmen into a false stroke

The first wickets falls, Nash goes to Qayyum.

I think the moment has passed.

Needed at least 3 down by lunch.
  • Wicket.

    96/2.

    Wells c&b Qayyum 7.

Apparently Wells is fuming and had a proper strop on his way off the field!
  • Wicket maiden.

    Qayyum is 2/33.

Ross Taylor at the crease on 142*...
  • 50 for young Harry Finch
