Adkins went up to Coventry to see the U23s and they lost 4 - 0. Has to be hard for anyone to stand out on the end of a whopping like that.
Just another small boulder in the downwards avalanche.
2021 - We just miss out on a play off spot, following continuing inconsistent form.
2022 - NA's major rebuild finds us challenging throughout the season, in a much more competitive league 1, ultimately just missing out on the autos and losing the play off final to Sunderland.
2023 - Once again we just fall short of the autos, and lose in the play off semis despite dominating both games against Millwall.
Andrew Barclay joins the board of Crystal  Palace
2024 - Nigel Adkins is sacked following a poor start to the  season. Chris Solly appointed manager.
PL strugglers Crystal Palace win the FA Cup Final
2025 - Thomas Sandguard announces he is selling the club to devote more time to his ailing American businesses, also citing disappointment at low attendances (15k) and season ticket sales (8k)
2026 - Roland Duchatelets son announces he intends tonsell-off The Valley and Sparrows Lane.
The Charlton board declare they are not in a position to purchase and are seeking alternative arrangements.
My son passes the news to me, but I have no idea who he is or what he is on about  ;)
Just another small boulder in the downwards avalanche.
2021 - We just miss out on a play off spot, following a valiant attempt, but the games in hand ultimately cost us.

2022 - NA's major rebuild finds us challenging for top spot throughout the season, in a much more competitive league 1. Ultimately we take 2nd pushing Sunderland into the play offs for the 3rd year in the last five.

2023 - We start the season well, but lack of quality is evident, Andrew Barclay comes on board and helps fund a very good January window. We finish in 8th.

2024 - Nigel Adkins hands over management of the club to Johnnie Jackson as he takes up a DoF role after Gallen moves onto pastures new. We finish in the play offs missing out to a worldy penalty save in the final.

2025 - Sandgaard & Barclay announce they are looking for further investment as they have completed the Training Ground upgrade and acquired Cat 1 status. Attendances are high, but regular sell outs bring questions over whether the Valley can be developed.  An Australian shows interest in investing as Charlton are promoted through the play offs.

2026 - Muir, Sandgaard & Barclay announce they have purchased the Valley and made it property of the club once more. Plans begin to complete the 40k stadium upgrade and make the Valley a full bowl. Charlton scrape survival in their first season back in the big time.

2030 - Stadium upgrade is completed, Charlton are relegated having won and been stripped of the Champions League and Premier League after it is found that the Australian Danish Mafia coerced Barclay into investing and it had been a giant scam. Charlton fans cry in the street.

I give it a month before the eejits start giving him grief for being so positive 🙄
Probably complain he's too positive and needs to be more ruthless
Oh I'm sure that imo Adkins has another side to him which could turn out to be very ruthless, the ruthless side of a positive man such as him can be born out of frustration of not living up to his ideals, and a possible feeling of failure, so yes those times no doubt will come, let's hope not too soon.

It does concern me slightly that he might be one of these people that are too nice to be involved in the game

Bet he can be a right bastard when he has to be, so long as its all done behind the scenes and players given the bollockings that they deserve at the right times then thats fine with me. Although equally have no complaints if a player gets mentioned in public if they've done exceptionally wrong either in training or a game

I don't think he's in danger of being "too nice." As much as I like his positive attitude you don't get four promotions purely by being a happy-clappy smiley nice guy - there's definitely another side to him.

Iron fist in a silk glove as the saying goes.

I think you can be a nice and caring person and still be shrewd and decisive, without being an 'orrid bastard. As someone mentioned earlier, I sure he is capable of making tough decisions, whilst also clearly communicating why he is making the decisions, and treating the players in question with respect. I think we have to get past the notion that people achieve at the highest level by means of abuse.

I'm sure given time he'll be Charltonised and all that positivity will be gone.

Only kidding, seems like a top bloke. Think he'll do well with us but maybe not enough time to impact this season

I'll start now! I can come across as very positive when I forget to take my anti-manic pills. He might just go home and weep out of the public eye. He looks familiar - probably from one of the psychiatric hospitals I stayed in.

Yes, in a few weeks his daily video will be from his living room, unshaven and surrounded by empty bottles  :D

I want to buy a gun when I fire up my iPad at 8.30/9.00 in the morning and see him bouncing around on twitter like Charlton TV's very own Mr Motivator. (ask your dad, kids)
My three positives from today are..............
    I'm still breathing.
    I haven't pi55ed my pants.
I need at least 3 cups of tea before I speak to my wife let alone get out of the chair.
FFS stop it and leave me alone to be fecking miserable! ;)

You may find there is a correlation between 3 cups of tea, not leaving your chair and pissing your pants  ;)

I know people will say 'it doesn't win you things' and all that, and I am not saying that it is the be all and end all. But it is genuinely nice to be owned and managed by two really nice people. Makes such a refreshing change from the last 7 years where (particularly on the ownership front) they were just utter knobs.
Do you know what our Henry will say?

    "Just win games."

Funny enough I was just about to post exactly that.

I like NA and his videos, I like his philosophy, it's rooted in good sense and it's long term and developmental, it's positive and joyful and I wish some of the miserable, doom merchants on here would adopt it but bottom line remains...

    Just win games

Is it just me or does he generally look like a happy guy who won’t piss off half his players?
    We probably don't deserve Him!
Has he got a gig at Bromley Addicks yet?
    We're working on it.

    September, we hope.

No, it didn't take that long. They started before he joined.

Not sure, but I ran past Jackson and Gilbey in Avery Hill Park at around 7.45am today.

I say ran past, they were going a hell of a lot quicker than I was.

Wait until he has managed us for a few months. We will soon knock the positivity out of him.
