The rumours of it having been in the pipeline for a while appear to be true, judging by the Papa Johns reference towards the end of the article on the OS… 😂

edit: Said references have already gone between me reading and posting here

Just narrowly before all the puns descend, this is good, it's something at least that we've acknowledged that our biggest problem is currently creativity from central midfield. Lee has gone off the boil but there's been no-one to swap him with, so it will be good to see John come in and challenge in that spot. I hope he's brilliant
  • This will do for me:

"Powelly was very complimentary of the boy both as a lad and as a player and said he will definitely come in and help us.”

Should be the goalscoring force in midfield that we’ve missed. Welcome Nile.

I mean I hate being negative towards any signing but come on am 18 year old with absolute no experience on loan in a position where we have our own young talent to develop in a season where we are going nowhere , why ? Just why?

Rumour has it he’s got some good moves, not surprising if you’d auditioned for River Dance………,I’ll get my coat and grab yours for you as well 😉.

    I couldn't be more excited!

Good luck at the mad house Nile.  If you see a sign at SL that says "Charlton Medical Team", RUN as fast as you can in the opposite direction.

Because we’re six points above the relegation places and John is an England youth international? Not sure who we’ve got in the youth setup who can boast those credentials.

And if these six months go well, who says we can’t get him back in the summer like we did with Famewo?

Why can't we give one of our promising young midfielders a go rather than loan and help someone else's. Our season is over, signings like this are pointless.

Because maybe if he does well, Spurs may be inclined to keep him here and we can bring him back next season for our promotion season

He's a loan player, the lucky little bastard will get to go back to Spurs if he gets injured.

Will probably show up back there with a host of Charlton players, pleading to be treated too

We signed Gallagher at the beginning of the season when we had something to play for. We won't go down or up so it's pointless.

We could always do both? - If there is a kid coming through just as good (at this moment in time) I'm sure they'll get an opportunity, like Nile John will get a chance... After all Mason Burstow has been given an opportunity, so if there was a youngster good enough, am sure the club wouldn't want to hold him back

I never knew that SCP was actually SCGRP? Good job he wasn't SCRP or opposition fans might have cottoned on and started chanting  "winnie", "tigger", "piglet" or, far, far worse, "eeyore"!

Can you provide us with a list of the players we have queueing up in our reserves/youth team who you think are better than a kid who's played for England from U15 to U19s and has played for Spurs senior team?

As with Castillo, if Jackson felt we had a kid of our own in that position who was ready/good enough then we'd be playing him.
