ValleyOfTears said:There is a clue in the word 'supporter' as to the role we are called to play in the club. I suggest those that DON'T support the owner, the players, should call themselves 'destroyers' and find a suitable echo chamber that relates to the role they are called to. For the remainder - let us support the club. In all things. Can you imagine if in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's etc every owner was cursed by his own supporters with every bad run of results and they demanded his head. Shankly, Ramsay, Lyall, Nicholson, Clough, Wenger - none of them would have got to the end of their first season!
It's ridiculous. TS has made decisions that have largely been correct from what I can see.
Buying a club that is about to become extinct - Good decision.
Adkins - rubbish - sacked - good decision.
JJ - average at best - sacked - good decision.
Garner - 5 wins in 20 - rightly sacked.
Washington released - wrong decision.
Waiting until 11.59pm on transfer deadline day to balls up the signing of his replacement - wrong decision.
Weighing all things up - I don't think TS is the main problem here. Extremely demanding 'supporters' living in fantasy world could be! Living in past glories could be! We are a third division team with no sense of itself and constantly turning over the playing staff or changing loans.
I wish BG every success in the future. Like JJ I think he would make a good assistant but not manager.
I'll wait until I've read the remaining 5 pages before I reply because I'm sure 99% of posters reading this thread would have already explained why you are wrong and/or deluded.1 -

Yes, VoT is in a minority of one and his post is somewhat typical of his contribution to CL.

Out of interest, what do you think would have happened if TS hadn't have bought us in September 2020. Everyone says he was our saviour & rightly thank him for it, but say he didnt buy us or the court case went against him & ESI were still the owners 2 years ago.
Personally I don't think ESI mk 2 would have ended up as owners. I'm pretty sure the EFL would have blocked Farnell as not being able to pass the "fit & proper" test and Southall was on his last legs anyway, ownership wise.
Would it have been Administration ? Elliott with a mystery backer (Farnell & Co) ? Or would somebody else have stepped in ?
My money is on Administration.....not immediately, but sometime into the New Year after limping along for a few months with funds dwindling & players not getting paid.1 -

Would put the EFL in a very sticky wicket if they band anyone associated with football employing him if he is still a practicing solicitor.0 -
BBC (during their Gillingham coverage) have just mentioned our displeasure at the ownership issues after posting the highlights from our game yesterday0

ShootersHillGuru said:I very nearly went to Stockport yesterday. It’s about an hour from where I live but decided against having to make the return journey across the pennines late at night in freezing conditions. Never have I ever been as grateful for sub zero temperatures. Quite how this club we support manages to keep finding new ways to plumb the depths is a mystery. I suppose the lack of any immediate threat of the club disappearing is the only positive I can currently think of. Everything else stinks to high heaven. I couldn’t make much sense of last nights team selection and am now genuinely worried that we’re going to get relegated. I’ve no idea if Sandgaard is going to sell or how close any sale might be but the club I support is dying on its arse in full view of everyone and it hurts to see it. I feel no connection to any of the players and have never been so apathetic towards Charlton. Not even sure if I can get the fire in my belly back.

Intoxicated by his own pomposity.

I'd not seen that clip before. I certainly don't want to see it again. Good grief!5

Looks like he's forgotten how his legs work to begin with, then suddenly remembers he has them2
-
We should count ourselves lucky his jeans stayed zipped up. This whole ownership has been an exercise in willy-waving on his part.6

Anyone know if this flew.?
Could be 2 quid a ticket very soon. I'd probably turn up for that.50 -
I’ve watched that about 30 times now, feel strange.4
