About what i expected from the only one on the board that has any credibility with the fans and that is rapidly going down the drain , very sad0

I think this proves just how brilliant a manager Alan Curbishley was.21

Q: How important is it for Charlton Athletic at the heart of the community?
What the hell are you talking about?

When even Colin is agreeing with the mainstream - you know we're f*cked.

To much faith in overseas players in their ability to play 46 games ! Fuck me 90percent of what they brought in are not capable of playing 1 game. It's the not the number of games that's the issue. It's the quality of the players. They will be better next season, of course they bloody will leauge one will make the look better.

The naivety is astounding. To whoever at the club is monitoring the customers reaction: do you think we're stupid?
This is going to backfire like you wouldn't believe.2 -
Once again, the regime takes tries to spread more nonsense... and the fans pull together stronger than they were before.daveydanger said:colin1961 said:Question for Richard Murray when RD took over you stated that your told was to advise them and help understand running a English football club ... You're never going to win Katrien, Richard or Roland. Move on guys, you're hopeless and delaying the inevitable.1 - Sponsored links:

"Our strategy for Charlton Athletic is that we are a financially stable club, who can be competitive in the Championship, but has Premier League ambitions."
This is not a strategy! Why, in a self managed interview, would you start with a question that you do not answer?
It's like asking Fraeye for his strategy to keep us up this season and him responding with 'my strategy is for Charlton to stay up this season'. Which, let's face it, is an answer that we couldn't rule out.
From everything that we've gleaned over the past two years it seems pretty clear to me that the aim is for the club to be self supporting financially and the strategy to achieve this is to manage costs downs and to generate revenue from two main sources: attract customers to matchdays through a mixture of cheap ticket pricing, 'matchday experience' and presence in the community (which supports knock on revenues such as sponsorship, hospitality and advertising) and player trading (be that selling on academy graduates or generating profit on acquired players).
The crux of the problem for me is, and always has been, that the footballing success of the team is secondary to the aims of the owners and those running the club. It is a by-product of their aim for financial self sufficiency. An aim which makes sense only if the owner is trying to prove a point (after all, he could have broken even on his investment by simply not investing in the first instance). Murray must know this too. And that is unforgivable. I sometimes wonder whether Roly made some obscene bet with a fellow oligarch in a rich mans' drinking den.
Though they won't spell it out, the evidence for this being the primary aim is there for us all to see. The kinds of fans that they are trying to attract; day tripping families, tourists and lapsed Tottenham cabbies, the exact type who won't really mind whether the team win or not or whether they actually have any ambition or not.
It's further supported by the annual January panic. We spend the summer cutting overheads and moving ever closer to the magical break even cost run rate only to realise come January that we are flirting with massive revenue reductions the following year leading on to panic signing players to try and preserve it.
And it's evident in what they don't do. Surely a club which had footballing ambition as its primary driver would be listening to investment pitches from businesses known to be investing billions of pounds in the local area?
And obviously, there's the fact that KM has pretty much said as much without actually saying as much.
Even Murray's stated 'strategy' (of course a rehash of Meire's own misnamed 'strategy') is back to front. 'We want to be a competitive Championship club with Premier League ambitions, managed in a financially sustainable way' would be perfectly palatable. The principal aim can't be financial stability.
As a football fan, there are few things more frustrating or demoralising than supporting a club with no sporting ambition. For me, that's why you're looking at an increasingly restless fanbase.
The only sensible aim for a football club, at least one that expects loyal fans to support it, is to sustainably achieve the best it can on the football pitch.31 -
I'd take Parkinson. Charlton legend.ForeverAddickted said:
Murray has already done it once before with Phil Parkinson...Leeds_Addick said:
Surely they wouldn't do that. They know our main problem is the fact he couldn't manage to fart on a diet of baked beans let alone manage a championship club.ForeverAddickted said:News Shopper Sport @NewsShopperSprt 1m1 minute ago
For those asking, Karel Fraeye's press conference has been moved from this afternoon to tomorrow. #cafc
He's being given the job on a Permanent basis isnt he... That's all this is to announce!!
KM has got fed up of the "We want a Manager" chants so they've just decided to change his title to make him look like the Manager!!3 -
I hope he has very thick skin then, because the reception he gets will not get any better as the season continues. Can see why he would demand a minimum number of matches given he was giving up a high-profile and lucrative job to take this one.ateamofcorygibbs said:Looks like Fraeye til the end of the season - making him our longest-serving

Didn't Sir Chris ask for some "experienced Championship players" back in 2014? And both Peeters and Luzon wanted reinforcements - all they got was the sack.Madz said:Sorry but how can Murray say “The obvious strand missing has been the number of experienced Championship players. The first time we have been able to address this is the January transfer window "
What about the last 2 seasons when every fan could see the new foreign players coming in were not cut out for the championship. They should have learnt last time and addressed with a mix last summer.
he has worked in this country long enough to know what is needed to get out of this league or at least challenge in it.
They have had 2 season (ok 2 halves and 1 full affectively) to learn this and we noticed it from day one, so how can a professional football club not realise this?
OK thanks Murray for conveying truthfully or not that RD has admitted he has made mistakes with the playing staff. But that's all I am thankful for. Rest doesn't make me feel any better about whats coming up7 -
Murray should change his name to Lord Haw Haw after Hitler's propaganda voice during the second world war. Haw Haw was unable to demoralise the Great British public, and Murray will be treated with even more derision after this regime's latest puerile attempts to self justify themselves. What a load of old cobblers KM and RM continue to spout.6

I suspect Katrien is sitting in her office rolling her eyes into her self absorbed head thinking 'well, this proves whatever you say to them they won't be happy'.
No, Katrien, it proves that if you communicate without addressing key issues it only serves to further anger people.
Again, the failing of the arrogant is that they assume everyone else is stupid.4 -
I have just sent the email below to Ms Meire-:
Good afternoon Ms Meire
After reading Mr Murray's statement today on the Official Web site (I would point out at this point that it is not a statement but an interview!) I was pleased to read that you are improving your communications with the supporters. Does this mean that I will finally receive a response to the email I sent you (twice) on 1st and 6th January? I am looking forward to your comments.
Kind regards
Malc Walden
Here's hoping!!!32 -
But he is not. I think the SLP have riled us all up here. Using the word statement in place of Q&A.
As I understand it, it was a Q&A.1 -

Questions by who ? KM to RM? seems like it, Not really Q&A if its scripted from inside the club, which it obviously isDazzler21 said:I think the SLP have riled us all up here. Using the word statement in place of Q&A.

I think the phrase 'intolerably inept' pretty much sums it up.1

Any chance they could change Carols day off to Saturday's?Dazzler21 said:Olly has just confirmed on twitter, there are no Charlton players training today, their Friday day off has been brought forward to Today
All very unusual and suspicious. Though he assures me it's not too unusual apparently sessions have been harder this week.

For those wondering, usual Thursday presser moved to Friday as the training schedule has been changed this week. Players off today.
Dazzler21 to Olly
@ollygroome all a bit unusual....
Olly Groome
@Dazzler21 not really. Sessions have been stepped up so things have had to be shifted around. Back to normal Thurs next week due to midweek fixture. After that, pressers will be on Wednesdays for the rest of the season.26
