I have this sad feeling Richard honestly believe he is helping, I'd even go as far as to suggest he instigated the 'statement'.
The reality is it isn't for you to come out and justify Richard. The reality is Roland should be interested enough to provide an update on his own plan, but as Katrien has highlighted on many occasions that she is one running the club day by day she for sure should have answered those questions, she may feel that the relationship between the fans and herself is dire and she would be right but then what does she have to lose? I would have begrudgingly gave her some respect if she came out and held her up's on certain areas.
Richard your not helping, your not reassuring us, your not earning respect - your highlighting how little we are thought of by the people making these decisions that you seem so insistent in justifying .7 -

I haven't read all the posts on here, so I might be repeating what another member has said, but I really have not learned anything new from that "statement", it's all been said before in one form or another. It's not in any way going to appease "the mob" as our troll in chief likes to call us - I prefer the term real supporters myself - but either way I don't think that has fooled anyone, including the media (well it may have fooled T-in-C).4

Carols got it easy hasn't he... could get trounced 8-0 and he'd keep the job, his solution you ask!? Make the professional players work their socks off on the training ground while he fails to stumble upon a decent enough tactical plan to get us any wins.
As has RM, as I said very very early on in RD being at the helm of our club, it's all about 'yes' men so to speak and getting rid of those who speak against it or don't fully agree, from the top to the bototm. RM 'bought into' RD's plan from the off, or at least pretended to and is happy to go along for the ride. He's happy to take the flack and speak for RD at meetings or interviews when is needed.0 -

From the looks of it, the club never announced it beforehand, it was actually the SLP that said a "statement" was coming out. There might indeed be an actual statement forthcoming, but if there isnt it wasnt the club that said there was one....

RM gets confused about "strategy" and goals and policies. Staying in the Championship is an objective, not a strategy (except if it's a strategy for RD to make money).
You cannot execute a strategy unless you have policies or principles (like a proper CEO and coach). This is the crux of the problem and why Murray's interview is so disappointing. Policies are the guiding principles that top management adopt to ensure the strategies can work.
There is nothing wrong with the strategies, and they can change as circumstances change, like injuries.
The elephant in the room that Murray alludes to by reference to mistakes, is the failure of policy. Policies are determined by management and influenced by key stakeholders like fans. RD and KM have the arrogance to believe they are equipped to make policy in a vacuum about a business they have no knowledge of.
The mistakes are down to policy decisions, not injuries or bad luck. Poor policy making is down to management - period.
The only acceptable statement from the club is acknowledgment of the absolute failure of management to adopt the right policies. If the policies were spelt out in Black & White, there might be the opportunity to have a dialogue and an exchange of views with key stakeholders like fans.
Strategies and excuses will not get us out of this hole either now or any time in the future with the current owners and management.
I'm afraid Mr Murray you are avoiding the elephant(s) in the room and feeding us bullshit.

We should all be very proud of the work that the community trust does a small part of which (the Upbeats) had been actively supported by Charlton Life and other fans from the early days. And in the interest of fairness by the CEO when she took part in the 8 mile walk.
However the Community Trust is not the football club. They are separate organisation. There isn't any current CAFC board member or Senior manager on the CACT board to my knowledge.
The two organisations do cooperate and the work of the community trust is branded to Charlton. The Trust will also benefit from the development of Sparrows Lane although maybe not as much as first planned.
But the football club doesn't deliver all the community activity.7 -

That's a major issue. It seems that they are willfully dismantling the supporter base, as they'd prefer a more "consumer" minded audience. Take a seat and be entertained (not necessarily the football either!). They seem to think they'll be enough of these transient audiences to sustain the club. So to put it concisely, what the 'interview' tells me is:
1. That KM is hiding/sulking as she is afraid that someone might ask her a meaningful question that she has to justify
2. That they are trying to pretend that like naughty children we can be ignored or placated with empty platitudes
3. They realise that they have made mistakes with player recruitment but haven't learnt a thing from them
4. That they don't understand that financial stability is commendable but not if you lose sight of what a football club is about: being competitive on the pitch
5. That competitive football being played at the Valley is not important in their vision but a sideshow
6. They will cut the playing and non-playing staff to a skeleton to achieve the madman's vision of financial stability
Oh, but we should all be happy with it! I feel deeply saddened for so many reasons but fuelled by their arrogance to protest and fight on.
