First thirty minutes of the first half didn't bode well, but I thought for the first thirty minutes of the second half we looked really good until their equaliser. Doughty and Morgan kept us in it.
Cue new ace striker equalising with the last kick of the game. Credit where credits due, we fought for that.

Merry Christmas Charlton!

Feels great to be on the right side of a last minute goal!41

Naby costs us a goal, Morgan creates a goal, Pearce costs us a goal and boom Naby saves us a point.
Doughty & Morgan our best players tonight. Sarr redeemed himself well too I thought.12 -
Weird one. Think we showed some positives but eventually suffered from our early changes.
Pay Taylor anything. I’m serious. If we throw most of our budget at him we have to keep him.12 -
For all the shocking luck late in games lately, we deserved that equaliser. It didn't look like it was coming but come it did.Lyle back on the scoresheet is a big plus, for now.We need that takeover done and dusted.8

Looked like we'd almost given up after they went 2-1 up but it feels good to score a late goal rather than concede.
I said on the match thread though that our defence isn't good enough. Apart from Lockyer we need an entire new defence. The rest are league one level.10 -

Well , we may be in 18th place , but it's still a better position than we thought we'd be at this time , when the season started. Bring on the cavalry quick , let's get this take over done!8

Nice to be on the right end of an injury time goal for once. I would have taken the win over Hull and a loss here though but never mind. We still need to win a bloody game, that's all that matters. Some of the teams around us are starting to pick up a bit of form now so it's imperative we do too. Cullen, Field and Williams still won't be back for a while even once they're back in training so the defence needs to shape up sharpish

Over the moon with that, hopefully it will help lift the mood17

They don't make it easy, do they.
Funny how 2 - 2 v Hull was devastating but this 2-2 feels great.
Barnsley win but we're still six clear of relegation. How after 11 games without a win I don't know but there it is.
Taylor back and we've found a new back up striker to bring on off the bench.
Plus Millwall lost (to Barnsley unfortunately) as did Palace.
Come on HE, get that deal done.11 -

If there was ever a game to turn our fortunes around, that was it. Our bad luck couldn't last forever! Speaking of luck, I'm not it can keep being luck for all these injuries. It HAS to be another issue, however that negative aside, we needed a rough, turgid performance, and we got that today. Whether Lyle stays or doesn't, I'm gonna enjoy watching him for as long as we've got him, played well today. Morgan should not be dropped, he was class. Tho Naby makes quite a few mistakes, he ALWAYS plays for the shirt and tries to make up for it, so pleased with that goal (what a finish from him). Surely this has to be a turning point for our fortunes.
Merry Christmas everyone!15 -
Naby two in two!13

I said on the match thread though that our defence isn't good enough. Apart from Lockyer we need an entire new defence. The rest are league one level.I don't think it was giving up as much as having nothing left to give - Doughty went off with cramp, Gallagher could barely run... This happens to us in every game at the 70-75 minute mark, since the injuries piled up. If we're behind at that point, we're toast 99 times out of 100.It was only an awful mistake by their midfielder, flicking it onto Sarr that let us in. But we'll take it after Hull, Huddersfield, Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall and Bristol City...8 -
Charlton last min equaliser, Palarse and Millwall lose. God is omnipresent.15

Come on, I'm desperate to see a clip of Naby's goal.

Defensively we were woeful again. Phillips kept us in it again. I’d certainly consider getting Sarr further up the pitch. Thought Morgan did well and put a really good performance in. First 30 mins were pretty dire from us, second half we stepped it up and the game really opened up, we certainly deserved a point.
2 things we desperately need to do - get Taylor signed up and keep Purrington as far away from the team as possible....he had the cheek to look pissed off when he was subbed - how about having a decent game and not giving the ball away every 2 mins? He is league 1 at best.7 -

Late goal papers over the cracks but I'll take it any day.2

2 points closer to the relegation places. Down to 6 points now.1

Luck wasn't on our side throughout the game again today with us hitting the crossbar and balls not quite falling for us.
Then FINALLY we get some luck that we've just not had for what feels like an eternity.
Bowyer, the team and the fans deserved a bit of luck today and we got it in the 95th minute (not to take anything away from Sarr's composed finish)! Feels like a win after the past few weeks/months.6 -

I'm ashamed to say I switched it off at 91 minutes. The game looked completely dead to me. I've never done that before. Never left a game early or turned it off. That serves me right.
I thought the defending in the first half was not of a professional level. I used to play in a District C league and it was a bit like that, but on a really bad day. We came out well in the second half but we still looked like conceding anytime they came forward.
Morgan was brilliant when he came on. Doughty played well, too. Dillon had a few moments of madness but kept us in it first half.
I thought Bonne was atrocious.
Good result in the end, all things considered.3 -

I'll take that after the run we've had. Let's get this takeover sorted asap because we're going to need some players for that January run-in.3
