In the QPR end. Shit view shit fans...
Set up was all wrong. You cant play a 442 with 2 wingers in modern football. It leaves you with 2 in midfield who were Gallagher and Pratley. Both worked hard but not gonna win you a midfield battle when up against 4 players. First half hour they tore us apart. They deserved the lead but the defending for the goal was poor. It was a brilliant ball in but we weren't organised and had no idea how to deal with it.
Purrington was fuming that he was taken off but the change in formation made all the difference. He had been goo up until that point other than the shockingly bad backpass cum through ball to send wells one on one (Great save Dillon). It was less the move to 3 at the back but more that we put morgan in midfield and had an extra man. We grew into the game and finished the half looking more likely to score.
Second half was probably more them than us but the game got progressively more open and both sides had plenty of chances. Great work from morgan for the goal (why doesn't Bow start him??????) Looked like the game was gonna fizzle out but the introduction of their number 20 changes the game again. He was like a better version of Leko (not a slight on Jonathon) had pace skill and trickery. He kept running at the space between Doughty and Sarr and always dragged either Pearce or Pratley in as well effectively taking 3 players out the game. Leaving space for others as we saw for the goal.
After that final roll of the dice from Bow to send Naby up front. Looked like it was gonna be lots of Huff and Puff from us with no finish but a mistake from them and big Nabs is in a scoring streak. Great control and finish from him.
Away end went wild. So hard to keep quiet in the home end - so gutted I wasnt with the charlton fans, things we do for family....
Felt so good for us to be on the right end of a late goal again. Feel like this can be a turning point.
Lyle was class. Passionate and gave everything, his class is obvious he causes problems and gets more out of those around him. Whether or not he stays it's obvious he cares for the club and he will give his all for us whether it's for 2 more games or till the end of the season. Dont care about the social media stuff the guy gets Charlton and I love him!26 -
Purrington could easily, easily have been sent off even before his horror backpass and ignominious subbing. He's being cruelly shown up. Doughty is already a much better player, and that's with JFC and Page to come back too. Feel a bit sorry for him tbh

Would be fuming as a QPR fan. That Eze has a chance to run the ball into the corner with under a minute left, and waste more time (which they’d been doing very well for the previous 10 minutes) but he instead cuts inside and shoots tamely at Dillon.

What a great start to Christmas, dross first half, huffed and puffed second, they were always going to score after we made it 1-1 and with time running out I thought thats that, queue the Nabster and absolute scenes at the end.

I'm not sure Naby deserves all the blame for the opener. Yes he should've done better with it but he had every right to expect Dillon to have come out and taken the ball rather than backing away onto his line as it came in
And I feel a little sorry for Pearce as he got made to look a fool for their 2nd but Osayi-Samuel did that to our entire defence on numerous occasions, he was a class above everyone else on the pitch once he came on
Doughty was superb, never stopped trying and their right back must've been glad when the final whistle went12 -

Barely got a singe decision out of that ref.Good summing up but harsh on Bonne who may have been poor today but has run his legs off since coming into the side and scored without much service in many games. If Anke and Hemed hadn't been constantly injured we could have rotated.
I just hope Taylor and Bonne get a chance to strike up a partnership.8 -

The ball went out in the far end corner and the fans up there wouldn't give it back to Gallagher for the throw in. The ref therefore adds on about an extra 30 seconds that would not previously have been added. It was nearly, if not passed 5mins into injury time when Nabby scored.
Not been there for a while and forgot how cramped it is as a ground and generally quite sh*t.3 -
Watching back the sky summary, when they scored their second it sounded like the roof had come off it was that loud. How great it was to see the sea of our fans take off into orbit as Naby scored. They sounded pretty loud too. What a great end to a derby game.5
