So so pleased for Alfie. I have never given up on him, hopefully this good game and a goal will spur him on.
He needs to add consistency now.
Midfield off Morgan, Gilby & Dobson next game I hope.21 -

Pretty poor overall, if we’re honest, but at least they stuck with it.
Corey was our biggest threat for the first hour, and Dobson was unbelievable in midfield. His tackles are like precision guided missile attacks - rarely mistimes them. And he’s quick.Mason was quiet, but very pleased he scored.Lee and Morgan didn’t make a great combo unfortunately, but Gilbey added something when he came on. Need to strengthen the midfield in this window, or in the summer, for sure. We’re hampered by Famewo being so one footed. Made it hard for him to find Blackett-Taylor on the wing, and he too often had to play it long cross field to Stockley, sorry, Aneke, to little effect.Inniss was dominant in the air, and set Burstow up beautifully for the first. Excellent free kick from Morgan, (I think?)
Just about deserved the win because of our improvement in the second half, but if Fleetwood had taken any of their first half chances it might have been a different story.8 -
Horrible day of results for us annoyingly.
But at least we got the most points that we could.
Fingers crossed for a nice run of results now.7 -
Shame he went and left us. 🙁Addictedoldgit said:So so pleased for Alfie. I have never given up on him, hopefully this good game and a goal will spur him on.

Decent win against pretty poor opposition.
Defense won us the game with Dobson, kept us well in control of the game and finished off enough chances to win.
Let's see if we can carry it on against Portsmouth.1 -

Had to skip coming to the Valley because of feeling crap with a cold and for 20 minutes was counting my blessings, but we steadily improved and deserved the win. Good to follow up last week’s point with three more and that will hopefully set a decent foundation for some tough fixtures ahead.
George Dobson again excellent but a big shout out also for Albie Morgan who backed up last week’s quality showing and redeemed himself for an earlier miss by hitting our second goal. Great technique. Alex Gilbey made a positive impact too, and his ability to drive at defences at pace is a great asset. I’d start him in place of the white Pele next week and keep Albie in.Back on the road to Wembley on Tuesday. Come on You Reds.7 -
For corners we should chuck everyone on the halfway line and just let Innis defend them and hit on the counter. I’m including Mac in that8

Away from home they've won 2 games all season.

Two of our own get it done, that is what dreams are made of ❤️7

Yeah, i thought they were quite a decent side. Certainly started better than us.

I hate to say it, but I hope we don't put out a full strength side for the PJT. It's not where our focus should be.1

They did all play well and deserve a day off but I think giving them the whole game off is a bit unnecessary.Addictedoldgit said:So so pleased for Alfie. I have never given up on him, hopefully this good game and a goal will spur him on.

Awful first 30, adequate next 15, so a poor first half.
Came out of the blocks well in the second half, and got a possibly undeserved lead from a well worked set piece after CBT was hacked down, Albie crossing to Inniss who headed back for Mason to poach a goal.
We then reverted back to some of the first half mediocrity, but Gilbey made a big difference with his runs from midfield. Great work from Albie created a left footed chance which he pulled wide, but he kept going and got his reward a minute later after more good work from Gilbey.
Not exactly a complete performance, but crucial 3 points with the teams below us also picking up points. Really pleased for Albie, who's taken his chance since being recalled.8 -

Well, think we just edged it with the 2nd half performance. Genuinely pleased for Albie with his goal and obviously what it meant to him. he with the team improved as the game went on. Looked like the new coach afterwards was saying effectively look what happens when you get in the box!!. Green shoots for him as they say by improvements still to be made. But I don’t want to be negative in any way and piss on his chips tonight. Well done Albie.. credit when it’s due.pleased we can talk about a victory tonight…. However it comes.2

Inniss was poor for the first 15 minutes. Gave the ball away so easily and outmanoeuvred in the air by a relatively small but agile Fleetwood attacker. To his great credit he dug in and performed very well. That header across for Mason Burstow's goal was magnificent.6

When it came on I just thought to myself how good it sounds because it meant we've won at last. And then I thought, how pathetic it was that it was being moaned about when we were going through a cracking winning run before. And then I thought, I bet someone on charlton life moans about it now...ParkinsonOut said:Good much needed win 👏🏻👏🏻
I thought that awful song wasn’t going to be played as soon as the game finished anymore? Let the supporters & players enjoy the moment before the dirge gets put on the record player7 -

First half was forgettable. Important to keep that home form going as our away form has been very poor. Pleased for Burstow and Morgan with their goals.Whoever Charlton play I cannot be annoyed when we win.0
-
Dull win. It's better than an exciting defeat though, so I'm going home happy. Dobson man of the match by a country mile. Great defending from Inniss, but some poor distribution in the first half. CBT had a decent game. Morgan probably had his best for some time. Gilbey made a difference and Burstow did what Burstow does best - long may that continue.6

Used to say that about Jamie Stuart and Bowyer.11 -
Scratching my head a bit at that, we were properly shit first half, then second half we pressed them a bit and won the free kick, and after every pass from Albie looking terrible, he floats a great ball to the back stick for Inniss to head back across, and the boy wonder puts it in. Then we fail to kill the game off, the referee gives everything against us, but Fleetwood are absolutely pants and didn't capitalise on it, and after a lot of huffing and puffing and Albie putting himself in a position to double the lead with a great bit of dribbling, he drags a pretty easy shot wide, and we all wonder if he'll ever get a goal. 30 seconds later and he's met a ball on the half volley and the power takes it through the keeper, and it's delirium and a clean sheet win.
Thought we were absolutely diabolical in the first half, but second half we were bang average, and as it turns out, that was more than good enough3 -
I was absolutely delighted for Albie Morgan when he banged that goal in seconds after missing a good chance that he had created superbly.
You could just see from the look on his face a mixture of delight and relief. And great that his team mates seemed so happy for him. Gilbey's congratulations, in particular, that of a wise old head who was delighted for his young team mate.
Amongst all the cries of "get rid of him" we forget sometimes that players like Morgan are young men and the pressure on them when they see and hear stuff like that must be huge. I hope he enjoys that goal over and over tonight.27
